Work this week has been chugging along. Got the first issue all done of my new project. I will have more info about it in a separate post.
Besides that, this week has been mostly bike repairs as my sparse money allows. Got the front inner-tube replaced. while it did not have a hole in it, the turned out to be jammed in an open position. So, yeah. that when bye-bye. The back inner tube is currently okay, but since it's very old I'll go ahead and replace it too. I actually have the new tube sitting on my desk to be dealt with tomorrow. Thankfully - both the tires that I thought were not recoverable turned out to be okay after some inflation. I was worried they'd be lopsided when spun, but that is not the case. The front tire does need a tiny amount of alignment as it is very rarely and softly hitting the front break pad, but for an around the town road bike, it's not a game-ender. Today, with Baron's help, I replace the rusted chain. This did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. and while the chain is now on, the front derailleur is not shifting correctly. Back derailleur is fine. While I can take her out on short excursions around the block, I can't do much more until she sees a professional. So Baron and I need to figure out how to save up the one hundred some dollars to take her into the shop and get a bike tune-up. Blarg. At least I was able to do the basic stuff myself.
As it is, I fear that I over spent on the bike and hope I don't bounce my account for the month. Won't know until 2 weeks from now when all my automatic payments hit. Cross your fingers. *If* things don't bounce, next month I'll probably get her a light set so I can bike her at night.
Also this week, now that the medical insurance has settled down again, I went in to see the podiatrist about my feet. If anyone was at FC this past year, they'll no doubt remember me hobbling around. I have now been officially diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. Weee! I am currently on a regement of stretches, Ibuprofen, and sleeping with a leg splint until I can get the insurance to approve new foot inserts. Sounds like I'm going to be healing this one over several months. This Sunday, I'm going to Shanghai Rindis to help lower my standing desk to a sitting position until my feet can recover. I love my standing desk, but not enough to delay my feet healing.
The business license finally came in from Sunnyvale. Unfortunately, with our money, we have to wait until Baron get's paid again before we can go down the the county offices and get the DBA filed. Once that get's achieved it's off for the resale license, then a new back account. It's just moving slower than we originally thought it would.
More about the new (actually old, but never seen before) project soon!
