Just moving along....
Dec. 29th, 2005 04:05 pmStill unpacking boxes (it'll never end). Also starting to poke at more work-like-objects.
Comics -- Got the pencils to the next Adventures of Blanc on the drawing table and about half of it inked. Been fairly depressed about my comics lately, to be honest. And lately means over the past several months. A lot of it revolves around money, or lack there of, and the fact that I feel like I'm being forced to web-publish. I have no qualms with web-comics. I read quite a few. But I do feel like I've taken a step backwards in my artistic career, not forwards. I'm trying to go forward, but I feel like I'm slogging through mud that's only getting deeper and harder to slog through. Despite my best efforts, I'm feeling pretty detached from the industry and fandom as a whole. In a weird way, this is also a good thing since most of the "drama" associated with both completely misses me. But it also means that most of my work disappears into that that wonderfully large void of "never heard of". I'm still trying to get the next Ebin & May written anyway and start laying pencils on paper for Liberty from Hell Vol.2...
Animation -- Signed both Ebin & May and 'Yote Tail up for webcasting on YouTube. We'll see what happens. It's an experiment. I was having some minor luck with mp4.com before it folded. Would like to put them onto ifilm but not 200+ dollars a year per film. I want my film more "out there" and able to be seen, but I don't have a lot of funds to do it with (funny that). I've tried the film festival circuit, but was only able to get one small showing for Ebin & May in NY. Without any awards I can't host my films at Short Film Central. Apparently, my stuff just isn't good enough yet. =le sigh=
