Not. Working. Fast. Enough.!
Jun. 24th, 2005 04:05 pmArg! It's Friday already?!?!
I need to get more work done! I've got Anthrocon & Eurofurance art shows ready before next Wednesday, and I'm no-were near getting everything matted, let alone setting up the pieces and portfolio for SDICC this year. I spent way too much time yesterday driving all over the freak'n valley looking for an approved Samsonite repair shop to fix the strap on Fifi (one of our suitcases) before handing it off (packed with joyous art for Anthrocon) to our agent. Samsonite, update your freak'n website! Of three, only one was still in business.... =GRR!=
Current Projects in the fire --
Comics
Ebin & May Vol.1: Ebin's Exile -- Shipped to Radio Comix and is now out of my hands. Yeah!
Ebin & May #29 -- Still waiting on pages. The wind, it whistles through the trees.... ;_;
Animation
the Stole Child -- Got a good start on BG07 & BG08. The first pass of BG07 is rendered. Debating on whether I need to speed up the droplet or not. Pros: Right now it's moving too slowly and feels "floaty". Speeding it up would correct this. Cons: Speeding it up means a much sorter view time on screen (in this case, inside the panel). Folks might not be able to recognize that it's a water drop if it's moving too fast. Need to think on this. Also need to think on how to handle rendering BG08 due to how HASH handles the alpha channel. Talked to Noal & Yves about this already when I was up in the area visiting HASH Inc. Need to get back to them on it, probably next week.
Hash Contest -- I've laid out in 3D all the scenes using dummy models, setup cameras and crappy default lighting. I've got a first cut together and have blocking animation in for a least half of all the shots. At this point, I'll probably turn in just the blocked, first pass animation. It won't be very good (bordering on suck-full) animation, but it'll be just good enough to tell the story. Not much more than that thou. I'll probably poke at it after the contest is done until I finish it but that might be a while.
I need two more days this week....
