What?!? You mean the indoor riding arena's actually used for riding? Who would have thought....

Work has been ... interesting as of late. Have another sinus infection (almost a constant state with me) and this one is really screwing with my vision. So work at art and the computer has been slooooooooow. Trying to get back on top of things now that the pressure has gone down a bit so my eyes can focus for longer than 5 minutes. Have also been doing lots of things behind the scenes that I can't talk about yet. Can't wait till I can though. ^.^

Oh! And a quick note: I just found out that Ebin & May has been added to 2012 Ursa Major's Recommended Reading List. Not an award, but still awesome!

A simple, straight up walk cycle of a horse. Yeah, it's not perfect, but at some point you have to stick a fork in it and call it done.

My first traditional animation that I've done in a long, long time. Reminded me very much why I don't work in traditional anymore as my hand swelled up tot he size of a grapefruit while working on this. But I do miss working traditionally. It's good to get back to the basics.

Done in Flash 4 - but using all traditional techniques. Nothing fancy here.

Still working on the horse walk - got the head in and cleaned up the hips and the oddness in the forearm. Still need to work on the lower neck as it's loosing a bit too much mass, then it's on to adding the tail and mane.

At this point I'm going to see this horse though to the bitter end. Be good for me to actually complete it instead of stalling out 1/2 way though.

Okay so it's been literately decades since I've done any hand-drawn animation. Bad me. I did this testing out Flash and my Cintiq to see if I finally got them to play nice with each other. I did, as you can see.

However - it's obvious that my skills have atrophied... badly. I did try and clean this up with laughable results and much hand-cramping.

Last night was my last basic horsemanship class. As a refresher and a test for my allergies, it was a success. My allergies didn't kill me. And I learned a lot of good basics. Particularly with saddles, since when I originally learned to ride It was done with a bareback pad. What I found really nice was the teacher Shawn spend a lot of time talking about how to read a horse's body language and good basic horse psychology. Something my previous training never even touched on.

My teacher, Shawn, wants to see me back next week to start actual riding lessons. This, of course, means I need to come up with the 40.00 per class. [sarcasm]Joy[/sarcasm]. And no, I am not open to commissions to come up with the funds. Commissions are too unreliable and I really do not want to take any new ones until the old ones are complete. I really wish all the web-work that I've been doing paid.

Speaking of web-work... If any of you hear me ever say "Sure, I'll help with your website", please lock me up in a dank, dark cell until that web-creating feeling goes away. Been spending way too much time playing whack-a-mole with hackers recently and it's really pissing me off since it's taking away time I could be using for things like... Oh... Adventures of Blanc.

But for now... Laundry.
