Nadine is on a MISSION! And poor Betsy is being treated like a motorcycle.

I'm really pleased on how this cover came out as a whole. Issue 4 is nearly in the can and I hope to have it uploaded to various websites by Friday. I'll also be posting on SMEW mostly to test out the new drip-feed plugin that I wrote. Posting to ComiXology is coming along. They should have issue two available anytime now and I just got the notice that issue three will be available soon as well. I've also entered talks with iVerse about adding it to Comics Plus and their Library Service program. Hopefully good things will come of that but nothing official as of yet.

Hope you all enjoy!

So I waaaay overslept today thanks, in part, to an absolutly weird dream.

It was a cross-over of Sailor Moon Crystal and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Just for the record, Usagi is REALLY into Derpy, Fluttershy was really into Chibi Moon, and it all made Rainbow Dash very grumpy. Somewhere along the line, Sailor Moon decided that the girls weren't cutting it and needed a group that was more ... physical. So she rounded up all these guys (including Mamoru) and gave them celestial powers calling them Sailor Shoguns with tight fitting spandex sailor outfits.

Yes, my brain whent there. ~.~

Oh, did I mention the main view-point character was a sarcastic, undead, ex-crusader, revenant from the 4th century who had been raised al-la Franenstien's monster? Yeah, He was currently towing around a princess he had rescued and was trying to get to his "doctor" so that his smashed lower jaw could be fixed. His "Doctor" of course was the enemy of the week for the Sailor Scouts. And they were in the way. After all, the Doc might have been (and I directly quote) "a fucktard, but he's my fucktard!"

I fear I might not get much done today....

Hello all! Still busy working away on 'To Kill a Dragon', but I wanted to post a little update of where I currently stand. Just finished another color page. That means I have 7 more pages to go. With luck, I'll have everything done by the second week of February.

Unfortunately, I have a little bad news for those waiting for 'To Kill a Dragon' on ComiXology. After sitting in the cue for months, they have finally rejected issue 2. Mostly due to "need's proofing/has typos" and "images are too low quality/aliased". Okay, I freely admit my spelling is not the best in the world. It gets "creative" at times. But that's why I pass it off to three different people to proofread. Apparently something slipped though anyways. So, when I get a chance I'll go back though the files and see what went wrong and fix it. At least for ComiXology purposes, there is going to be an even longer delay between issues. But I wanted to let folks know what's going on there.

I've also been wanting to upload the pages on SmudgeMarks & EngelWerks, but my heads been so full of just getting the coloring done for the last issue, that keeps getting pushed back. Again, I'm sorry for the delay of that.

A lot of the hangups are cementing in my mind to have a project competed *before* going live with it. Too many delays and interruptions that I cannot seem to recover from, so the best workaround is to have it in the can before hand. At least I'm coming to grips with it now and not with a much bigger project.

Anyways - The last issue of 'To Kill a Dragon' is now looking to come out the first or second week in February. I really hope you enjoy it!

Just a reminder/heads up: I will *not* be at FC this year. For all how are going, I wish you the happiest of times and hope you come home with some really fond memories. Have fun all!

Well, yeah. It was bound to happen.

I, Smudge, have fallen behind in my work schedule again. Nothing bad, really. Just over booked myself then the holidays started. Will post a couple of sketches and such on Friday to the various sites that host but the last issue (which will be oversize) will hopefully be posted at the beginning of January.

I also completely face-planted on NaNoWriMo this year. Part of the issue there is that I was assuming I would have ‘To Kill a Dragon’ done by the beginning of November. BWAHAHAHA, silly me. So, yeah. I’ll get back to that once the comic is done.

Anyways, just wanted to give you all a heads up on things happening here.

Sorry things have been quite here lately. Mostly it’s due to having our noses to the grindstone.

Baron’s been working hard getting commissions done while getting work together for FC next year. Will post new stuff on that, hopefully, Monday.

As for me, Smudge, Fox Den and I have got ‘the Keeper’s Warrior’ edits in the can and hope to have the proof copy from the printer any day now. ePub version will also be released at the same time so you have your choice of digital or dead trees. Oh, and I was able to include all the art in the digital version too. It was a pain, but I think it will be well worth it in the long run.

To ‘Kill a Dragon’ is still chugging along. I’m in talks with MadeFire, a comic app, to have it posted there.

And last but not least, I’m participating in NaNoWriMo this year. Mostly to try and kick me outta my mental block when it comes to writing. This past few years have not been good to me stress wise and it means that my writing creative juices are not only not flowing, but acting like molasses… in Montana … during winter. And before you ask, ‘To Kill a Dragon’, story-wise, has been sitting on my desk complete for nearly ten years. But with luck, and a little nudge, now that the worst of the stress is off me, I can get things not only going again, but completed.

I’ve decided this year, I’m going to get Dis’ tale done. Right now, it’s under the working title of ‘the Inn of the Cat’, but I am hoping to find something better. After all, the current title, while descriptive, is pretty dang common. Wish me luck!

the Inn of the Cat

DisLoungingAround

Dis was a wanderer, but not by choice. All he wants is a place to call home. And he finally thought he’d found it, in a small inn run by Edio within the bustling trade city of Daleport. Yet, politics, the coming of a new lordship for the city and fear are threaten to, yet again, force him to flee. After all, it’s hard to be a magical being in a city that faces any magic with torches and pitch-forks.

Hand Of The Dragon

Hand Of The Dragon

Getting close to releasing issue #3 of ‘To Kill a Dragon’. Here’s the cover image to prove it. ^.^

Sorry I’ve been so quite as of late. Usually when I drop off it’s because I’m either dealing with RL drama, or have my nose to the grindstone. This time, happily, it’s been the latter, not the former. Not only have I been working on getting ‘To Kill a Dragon’ out the door, but I’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes here setting up a new eStore and programing needed plugins.

The program work is nearly done. As soon as it is, I’ll be posting ‘To Kill a Dragon’ at SmudgeMarks & EngelWerks as well as a test of our new subscription model for comics, stories, and podcasts.

I’ve also been keeping busy domestic side as well. Been on a slow rampage of house cleaning/organization/getting-rid-of-crap since the emergence room visit a month ago. A lot of this is my vain attempt to get the house a little less allergen friendly. My long standing dream at this point is to get it in shape enough for Roombas to be able work. Yeah, probably never happening, but I can give it the collage “GO”.

Back to the grindstone for me – Issue three won’t letter itself.
