Ebin and May has updated!

Smudge is still out. The rib is getting better, but still a problem... and, well, she's been poleaxed by a cold I introduced her to. Still wondering where I got it.

So... it's not completely my fault...

Ebin and May has updated!

Sorry folks - No post today for Ebin & May. While I have started on the next page, my back is in no shape to finish it in time. While it is getting better, it's doing so at a snails pace. Such is life. I do have another appointment with Dr.Rob about it on Wednesday and I'll do my best to keep you all informed on it with the aims of getting back onto shoulder once again.

Thank you for your understanding. Your all the best! ^.^

Ebin and May has updated!

Sorry folks, no updates this week. Last week, I unfortunately ended up dislocating one of my ribs and am now stuck laying flat on my back in bed. As a result I am unable to work on my computer or at my drawing table. Instead, I have to force my roommate to post for me. I will return next week, hopefully feeling better.

Again, I'm sorry about this, but health takes priority over webcomics.

About a bit over month ago, a new 24hour Fitness opened up practically next door to me. Having a little extra money on me that I've been scrimping and saving for a while, I decided that I would make an investment in myself and walked in opening day and got a year membership, cash on the barrel-head.

I also got a 3 personal trainer sessions so we could sit down and figure out a exercise routine for me. One of the things we talked about was what my goal was. Frankly, I could care less about loosing weight. If I do scrub off some extra poundage, I'll be happy because it'll be like finding a neat toy at the bottom of the Crackerjack box. For me, my real goal is to get some of the strength and stamina back that I've lost over the years of being bedridden. I want to be healthy. That's not the same thing as being thin.

First month and I was already noticing an improvement. By the time Wondercon hit, I had energy. I was floor pounding that convention hall like nobodie's business, at least until I hit the pothole in the street on the way to Moscone. The year before, I could barely make it from the train station to the exhibit hall before I completely collapsed. So, yeah, big improvement.

So today, because my ankle felt strong enough for me to drive the 1 block over, I hobbled my way into the club to explain my current, non-good condition with the piece of paper from the emergency room explain the injuries I have. They took one look at me and helped me put a suspension on my membership until I could heal up. Go go, customer service.

I know there's a lot of dissing of 24hour Fitness, but so far, I have not encountered anything but nice competent service.

Lets see if it holds.

Just wanted to keep you guys up to date -

Saw the bone specialist yesterday. I'm actually doing a lot better than I thought.

Ankle - Yup, the Dr. confirmed a sprain, but no bone damage. The Air-Cast is off while I'm at home, resting. If I have to go outside - I need to put it on for another week or so, then it's off permanently. I can walk on it for short stints without any pain at all. It's just stiff. For now, RICE (rest, ice, compress, and elevation) is in order.

R. Arm - looks like I have a chip in the small bone in the lower right arm now. Dr. has me out of the cast-like splint and wants me to move it (but not put any weight on it) so I don't move mobility. MAN, does it hurt! But it's a dull, deep pain that I can deal with.

For now - I'm back to work, but will be taking it slow and easy with many breaks to RICE. While it slows me down for a bit, I consider myself lucky to have gotten off so lightly.

Thank you all for the well wishes. They mean a lot.

Ankle doing better. Hopefully will be out of the air-cast by next week. I go see a bone specialist on Wed. for my right arm/elbow. know more then.

Have discovered I can do posting one-handed via Baron's iThing. So, I created a twitter account to help plug my stuff @smudge_dragon. No clue if it will work for me, but I figure I won't know unless I try.

Went to Wondercon this weekend. Mostly had a good time, but unfortunately, the last day my foot ended up in a pothole. I landed badly and broke my arm. So I won't be around to post or reply or any of that fun stuff. If you want more information on the weekend, go see [livejournal.com profile] rindis' post on it.
