Been scanning a lot this past week, getting Trouble Express ready to go to Digital Distro. Unfortunately, I'm really behind.

Birthright will have to skip an update day as I will be scanning the episode over the weekend. And it's the last episode we have on-hand. Hopefully, Steve will send more soon. *hope, hope*

I also need to scan Eureka! now that it's site is ready to rumble. Spent a lot of time recently getting that into shape and I'm really proud of that, despite non-helpful program support.

I still need to get a new site built for a new story coming into Radio. Really looking forward to getting that all online as I think it's a neat tale, but UGH - all the scanning to do before that can happen....

And somewhere in all this I need to do my own books. Ebin & May is almost complied for Vol.2. Just need to create the spine piece and output the PDF of the interior. Elin says despite Battleship 2012, Project Garefowl is a go. But what time to do it in... ? @.@

So yeah - this is why I'm not online much atm. Sorry guys.

I think this page also sums up Robert and Shiroc's relationship, as well as a quick glimpse into each of their characters.

This was a test comic I did entirely digital to see if this is the way I wanna go for the full series. Color coming soon-ish. Not sure yet - feedback appreciated.

Done in Manga Studio Debut 4. Definitely has some pluses and minus. I like not having an original to not have to store somewhere. The sketching pencil tools are awesome. The inking tools are not bad, but I spent a lot of time fighting them. As such this page took longer to ink (with a lower quality) than if I did it traditionally. Maybe that's something I will improve with over time. Hard for me to say atm. Also, very, very, very ercked that it caps out it's page max page size to *just under* the standard size used for American comics. As such this page is short by 1/4 inch on top and bottom. grrr!

Oh, and yes, Roberts office looks like a 1960's reject. With the tiny budget he has, he pretty much dumpster dives all the furniture from the rest of the base. After a while, it started having this "look" and he ran with it. At lest it has character. ^.^

Been working my ass off lately, but not doing what I want to do. Blargh.

Been getting BMI ready for upload for download distribution. This is taking a lot longer than I'd prefer. Mostly because I keep having to backtrack on my work. I also need to get Trouble Express ready to go too. But I am very unhappy with the scans I did for issue 3 and am wondering if I need to re-scan the entire lot. Alas working on getting new stories ready to go for Radio Comix website. Which of coarse means more scanning.

On top of that - I am doing the stupid, suicidal thing of writing my own theme for WordPress. Mostly because I am sick of fighting with ComicPress, and I have issues with Easel and how the base theme is handled. I know just enough programming to get myself in real trouble. So off I go. The theme will most likely be for my own, personal use and not made available to the web community, mostly because I don't want to spend the rest of my life supporting it.

When that is done, I should probably write a plugin that will X-post to FA and DA, but that might be beyond my programming skills.

And on top of this is Project Garefowl which I really need to get moving but everything else keeps getting in the way.

And this is why I am grumpy and not really talking on the internet. ^.^

Back to work for me.

Working hard on Project Garefowl here, in-between all the other work I was doing. To wet people's appetites, here's the character sheet of the other main character from Project Garefowl; Shiroc Torsha.

Shiroc came to work for Project Garefowl five years ago as a civilian contractor, due to his talent for picking up conversational languages with frightening speed. While a legal alien working within the US, he spends nights studying for his citizenship. When not working or studying, he's picked up prestidigitation as a hobby. His penchant for performing on the drop of a hat has made him well known, and well liked around the base.

Shiroc tends to be a quiet person in new situations and around new people, yet he has a flamboyant side that allows him to warm up quickly. He is quick to smile but slow to anger. He is very fond of swimming, and goes to the beach as often as he can. When asked about his past, he will politely state that "it was a long time ago", and that he "wishes to move on", but nothing more.

Kick out of the house for a while today. Off to go shopping for new ear bud to replace those lost with my DS. Still mad at myself for poising the DS on the airplane. It was my stupid and I admit it.

After shopping, I get to find someplace quite to sit down indoors and work more on Project Garefowl. Lots of design work to do as well as getting some more of the story elements finalized. Got Shiroc's character sheet finalized yesterday so I should be posting that next week. Still waffling on how I want to do the color (cg color, combo 2D/3D, cg color w/ watercolor BGs, ECG). Should try some test images of each to see how they would work out. A project for next week, I think.

Well off to Best Buy for me!

So - every time I start a new project, I create a "soundtrack", a play list of music I associate with what ever the project is about. I have quite long ones now for Liberty from Hell, Bureau of Mana Investigations and Ebin & May. And I have some nice ones for newer projects like Ash-bone Man, and lost of things Desert Rose would like to sing.

However - The new project I'm poking at is a lot more illusive when it comes to music. It's very US Navy focus, action orientated. Currently being called Phoenix Inc* Project Sea Bird** Project Auk*** Project Garefowl (name is subject to change).

So far I have -

As you can see I tend to lean towards soundtracks/orchestral. However, beyond those, I'm lost. Anyone got any music suggestions for a Naval Action Adventure flick?
